I love the the opening scene for the new James Bond movie. Chris Cornell, who by the way looks quite old in the music video but still hot nevertheless, sings the opening theme. I love Daniel Craig as the new James Bond, good looking bordering on ugly! Not your conventional handsome guy but extremely intriguing. I love the light teasing repartee at the train. And that's about it, the whole time I was watching it I was wondering when it will be over. That's what happens when you hear too much hype about something. The excitement builds up so much, that when you see the real thing it just doesn't measure up. Like Venice, the canal smells and everything is expensive (the gondola ride, the lovely masks, the Italian shoes and the frigging restaurants). I did not meet any hot Italian lover, instead I met a pesky American college boy on the bus who coaxed me to sing "Hotel California" with him. I must admit, though that I thought it was charming when he had the whole bus singing the song. I did not have a romantic dinner at any fancy restaurant, instead i survived on pizza and gellato. I did not find love, just a few construction workers who whistled when I walked by. Well, I still love the place though. It was just different! And I love seeing old Italian couples who still look very much in love with each other. The old buildings with their history, the water taxis, the empty churches, quaint apartment buildings. I actually felt that I should have never come to Venice with a broken heart. Like I shouldn't have watched Casino Royale with a heavy heart. Perhaps I would have thought differently.
Glimpses of Venezia.
