Someone asked me to name a famous Filipino and I answered: Joey Santiago of the Pixies. I'm sure a number of Filipinos would disagree with me as they probably never heard of Joey and the Pixies. Too bad, I once read that Joey wanted to be popular in the Philippines as the girls are way too pretty there! Well Joey, you're more than popular in my book. You are a hero, your music introduced me to kindred spirits!
