Orange and Godfather

I saw Godfather Part II again last night with a guy who seemed to be a bigger fan than me. And he mentioned about the connection between oranges and death in the trilogy. True enough, there were oranges everywhere in the movie and characters wearing orange suits and ties. Like revenge, orange is so pervasive in the movie you would think Coppola deliberately used it as the image of death. Well, more correctly an omen. I don't think you need an orange as an image for death when the death scenes were so aggressively blatant or blatantly aggressive, whatever works for you.
